Our story
Who made the first move? That’s up for debate.
Let’s set the story straight – we first met in 2008 (that’s 17 years ago), but we never really spoke a word to each other until we started working at the same McDonald’s in 2009.
You could say our first words were pretty transactional. You know—the usual: “Hi,” “How are you?” “Welcome to McDonald’s,” and “Where’s that cheeseburger, Gerome?!”
Apparently we didn’t really talk much during that time. And then Janine found out that Gerome likes to talk – a lot.
We grew up, graduated, and lived our young adult lives.
It was four years later until we saw each other again. We spoke our first words after what felt like an eternity. This time as adults.
“Hey! How have you been?”
So, where are we now?
It became our goal to travel as much as we could. We’ve found ourselves enjoying the sites and scenery in Los Angeles and Seattle. We experienced the feeling of nostalgia takeover on a family trip to Disney World.
We flew across the globe and adventured in countries like Mexico, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Morrocco, Spain, and Thailand.
We took on challenges together and tried new things. We met some of our best friends when we started boxing. We shared our dreams, aspirations, and did all the things that make us happy. And we talked about building a future together.
On October 8, 2024, we were at an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Gerome asked Janine “You know what would be crazy right now?”. He got on one knee in the middle of the jungle, with 2 elephants as their witnesses.
Janine said “Yes!”
Now we’re happily engaged. Since then we purchased our first home, picked out furniture together, and talk about all the exciting things we have planned for the future.
Experiencing the big moments in life, we found something in each other the last 11 years. We became inseparable, a package deal. We became a power couple – but the kind you’d find in your favourite rom com movie.
Now we’re about to get married in one of our favourite places on Earth.
And what better way to celebrate this special day than with the family and friends we love.
Oh, and to answer your question: “Who made the first move?”
That’s a story we’ll tell on our wedding day. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on September 4, 2025!

Ceremony
5:00 PM
The moment we’ve all been waiting for! The ceremony begins at 5:00 PM. Please plan to arrive at least 15–20 minutes early to find your seat before we say “I do.”
cocktail hour
5:40 PM
Cocktail hour will be held at the Beach Lawn. Buggys will be available for guests. It’s also a 5-10 minute walk downhill If anyone is interested.
RECEPTION
6:30 PM
Join us for an unforgettable evening – featuring a family style meal, great company, and heartfelt speeches. Get ready to raise your glass and make memories as we kick off the night!
AFTERPARTY
10:00 PM
The afterparty will be held at an indoor venue. Buggys will be available for guests. It’s an uphill walk, so we suggest taking the buggy. Rest those legs cause it will be much needed on the dance floor!
